Suri Cruise Vanity Fair Photos Unveiled by Katie Couric in CBS Debut
September 05, 2006
Following in the grand tradition of Edward R Murrow and Walter Cronkite, viewers tuning into tonight's debut edition of 'The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric ' were treated to an unexpected "get" -- a first look at Suri Cruise's top secret photo session with Vanity Fair:
The "Yes, Suri, She's Our Baby!" Vanity Fair hits newstands Wednesday.
A new word, "newsieness" to join "truthiness."
There is a war on. The President should be impeached. Is Iran the October Surprise this election cycle? Where is that Bird Flu? Oil prices? Poverty? Education? Health care, immigration, ports unprotected?
No, we are looking at the next millionaire.
But it is the news you get when you want profit and not intelligence. Ed Murrow had his stupid interviews, too. But he had the real deal, too.
Courie was as silly as she was expected to be. But I heard Bob Scheiffer get into a laughing fit over a scientist wearing a monicle when Pluto was the story.

I'm sad for the baby. I hate scientology , I think she will be slave of scientology like her father ... It should be better for Katie to go away from Tom as soon as possible

@The Dude abides
What kind of person sells their baby's photos???
someone like Pitt - Jolie.
btw, i've heard cruise -holmes didn't ask money for Vanity exclusive. maybe they are much better then Pitt-Jolie as they prefer to enjoy the daughter's birth privately. i really appreciate this 'normal' and logic bahaviour, even though it comes from a strange person like tom.
besides, i think they had no choice, they had to show suri's pics to the world, given all the rumors and bad gossip.
anyway suri's got mom eyes.
PS : sorry for my english, i speak from Italy.

Poor Steve: He thinks that hair dye influences genetics. A true child of TC and KH would have pale blond to very pale ash colored hair.
But then, if you think that genetics can be changed by hair dye, you will also believe that this EIGHT TO TEN MONTH "old" baby truly is 4 month old TomKat.
What a joke. No wonder they are taking "advice" from Michael Jackson.
Posted by: Tarkington | September 06, 2006 at 01:53 AM
I apologize. I misread how names are posted. IT IS ETHAN who believes that genetics are changed through make-up.
Not true, Ethan. Not true.

how malignant you all are. why? beacuse of scientology? ok, yes, scientology is shit ok, but these two are still persons living an happy moment. why do you want to see evil everywhere?
Posted by: babra | September 06, 2006 at 02:16 AM
someone know how is the cost to get the top of scientology? no comment
Posted by: dududome | September 06, 2006 at 02:27 AM
Give me a break - like this child Suri is some kind of Hollywood Royalty the world has been waiting breathlessly to see and pay homage to.
Will someone tell me WHY Tom and Katie are STILL not married? Rumor has it that they have not married because Tom's lawyers and Katie's lawyers have still not come to final agreement on the deal for this obviously arranged marriage.
I predict that in a decade or two after Tom's magnificent Movie Star career fizzles completely out he will write a tell all autobiography about how he had to live a lie all these years because the public wouldn't accept him for who he really is.

What a BEAUTIFUL and SWEET BABY! VERY NICE FAMILY! CONGRATS!!!! :)
Posted by: Paolina | September 06, 2006 at 02:42 AM
hi all
i really don't give a fuck about suri.
i think she NOT cute at all and surely she will be as dull as their parents are..just think about tom and scientoly..what a pair!
I understand better now why americans are so nut...if they put this news on the prime time at the cbs..you cannot pretend really anything good from them. what a miserable life you have ahead!
Give us a break, we live perfectly without all this shit.
Posted by: vale | September 06, 2006 at 02:53 AM
@Craig
please would you kindly explain me why nobody told anything similar for Pitt - Jolie?
they are not married , and jolie is as strange and psychologically unstable (has anybody here ever read some frightening interviews of hers?) as cruise. but no one give a fuck about that, Pitt Jolie are funcking saints because they did charity (with our money, but that's just a detail, isn'it?).
how much hypocrisy.
@Vale:
they have CBS, but we have Studio Aperto and Simona Ventura shit on prime time. so do you really want to know what's the worst thing?
c'mon.
shit is everywhere, not only on american tv.
Posted by: babra | September 06, 2006 at 03:12 AM
ah i forgot...why suri looks like an asian baby??
neither of them is asian...
Posted by: vale | September 06, 2006 at 03:18 AM
@babra...you're right unfortunately..
that's why my tv is frenquently off..and i don't live in italy at the moment..such a lucky thing!
Posted by: vale | September 06, 2006 at 03:22 AM
Stop being mean and ugly. I don't much care for Katie or Tom - but you're saying ugly hurtful things about a beautiful baby - a beautiful life. I'd much rather look at pics of Suri than the death and violence on the local TV news. This is life - a very precious, beautiful rarity in this Godforsaken world....
Posted by: "B" | September 06, 2006 at 03:29 AM
You would think they were the only couple to ever fuck, get pregnant and have a baby. Hey millions of people fuck every day, get pregnant and have babies.
Give us all a break
Posted by: James Lush | September 06, 2006 at 03:43 AM
Their child is average looking at best. Nothing special. Just another kids whos parents thinks she beautiful, but in reality looks just a little bit off. Kind of strange looking...but who really cares?
Posted by: does anyone care? | September 06, 2006 at 03:48 AM
I really don't care one bit about Katie Couric. I'm not overly impressed with Tom Cruise of late either. I feel somewhat concerned for Katie Holmes wellbeing. BUT, that baby is just darling. What a cute, precious little thing. I hope all of you who have taken time to say mean things about such a small defenseless baby will spend some time reflecting on why you feel the need to do so.
Posted by: Denise | September 06, 2006 at 03:51 AM
Anchors complain they have only 19 minutes to present the news, so on her first broadcast Couric wastes time on "Sorry" Cruise. And then she wants US to help her come up with a nightly sign off. How about "I should have stayed at Today".
Posted by: Joe | September 06, 2006 at 04:27 AM
I dont think thats Tom's baby. Looks like Katie was banging a chink
Posted by: Bob | September 06, 2006 at 04:39 AM
Come on people, why don't you admit that the baby is just ADORABLE.
And as for PEOPLE who SELL THEIR BABY'S PICS FOR MONEY ..you must realize that the magazine will make LOTS and LOTS of MONEY out of those pictures so why shouldn't the parents get a share of it ..after all it's their child. It would be stupid to let the magazine get all the money!

Posted by: Chris G | September 06, 2006 at 04:49 AM
glad I watched House (or anything else) instead of what seems a disappointing debut by Couric. Run a DNA test and I'm sure it will show some other scientologist was the father. How about this for a sign off. "Wake up I'm done now". The news media is destroying this nation.
Posted by: edg | September 06, 2006 at 05:23 AM
Why do people keep buying magazines like this. It's such crap and explotation. So they had a baby. Good for them. It's no better than any other baby except that millions of people live and die by what some narccistic celebrity says and does. Example, why is Paris Hilton even a celebrity??? I would feel better if TomKat donated the proceeds of the sale of pictures to charity. It's not like he needs the money for goodness sake. No wonder islamic nutjobs hate America. Oh and by the way. L. Ron Hubbard was just some fiction writer, not a prophet of some great religion. It's all a huge scam. Seriously.

SORRY I DIDN,T WATCH THE NEWS. ITS ALL THE SAME WAR, THE PRESIDENT, GAS PRICES ECT. I DON'T THINK THAT A BABY EVEN OF SOMEONE WHO IS famous IS THAT IMPORTANT. IT REMINDS ME OF THE RAG MAGAZINES YOU CAN BUY AT THE STORE. I WORK FOR MY MONEY AND I'M NOT GONNA WASTE IT ON TRASH. IF I SEND CBS PICTURES OF MY NIECE AND NEPHEW WHO WON A BEAUTIFULL BABY CONTEST HERE IN OHIO WILL YOU DO A STORY? AND BY THE WAY IT WAS A ONE TIME THING FOR THE CONTEST WE ARE NOT RAISING A JONBET HERE EITHER. TO SAY THE BABY IS UGLY IS A MATTER OF OPINION BUT IF YOU DON'T WANT PEOPLES OPINION THAN STOP FLASHING THINGS ALL OVER THE NEWS AND IN PRINT WHERE PEOPLE ARE GONNA TALK. ITS A BABY WHO WILL HAVE EVERYTHING HANDED TO HER WHAT ABOUT THE ONES WHO ARE ABUSED WHO STARVE TO DEATH HERE AND IN COUNTRIES ABROAD,WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN WHO SUFFER WITH CANCER, AIDS, AND OTHER THINGS THAT REALLY DESERVE MEDIA ATTENTION? THEY (TC & KH) ARE PEOPLE JUST LIKE US THEY PUT THEIR PANTS ON ONE LEG AT A TIME THEY JUST HAVE A DESIGNER NAME. AND WHO CARES. WE WERE ALL BORN NAKED AND BEFORE WE ARE DRESSED AND PUT IN A CASKET WE ALL DIE NAKED TOO.

Personally, I think Tom Cruise sucks and so do every one of his movies, ok, except for Top Gun. I used to think Katie was pretty sweet, actually she's still pretty sweet, but after she jumped aboard the alian space ship faster than you could say beam me up scottie I now have absolutely zero respect for her and her decission making intelect. As far as the media is concerned, they suck more than anything on earth. They are nothing but a bunch of bottom feeding bastards who pry their noses into other peoples business and will say the most dispicable things about anyone as long as us retards keep paying attention. Katie Colon Couric included.

Who F-ing cares!! I found this on Drudge this morning. Yes, it is very sad that they sold their pictures to a magazine to make millions of dollars. It is a true sign that the evening news has gone down the toilet. There are 1 million other important topics to discuss on the evening news..........crap like this shown on shows like Extra or ET.
Like I keep saying, network news and mainstream media is losing veiwership day by day.

Posted by: Disgusted | September 06, 2006 at 06:15 AM
Dittos to June and Brent. Suri is beautiful but it's sad that she is doomed to suffer because her parents haven't even bothered to make an intact home for her. Besides, we all know they aren't going to stay together anyway, so Suri's going to forever have a broken home and she's going to have to deal with her parents' long line of lovers. Either way, Tom's going to be busy making movies and Katie's going to be busy stinking up the big screen and Suri's going to be raised by some stranger. It never occurs to them to raise their own children. How sad.

It's news because people actually care about this baby.
This is the entertainment capitol of the world and he is the biggest star - and a freakshow to boot.
It was a 20 second story. People say who cars about the story? I say who cares that they ran the story?

HAVING BASTARD CHILDREN IS NOT NORMAL, KATIE...MAYBE IN HOLLYWOOD, BUT NOT IN THE REAL WORLD! YOUR CHILD IS 4 MONTHS OLD, BUT THE KID IN THE PICTURE LOOKS LIKE IT'S ABOUT A YEAR OLD! YOU AND TOM DESERVE EACH OTHER........
Posted by: PPGIRL | September 06, 2006 at 06:35 AM
Many of your readers/posters are misinformed. A friend was involved in this photo shoot and there was NO money exchanged for these photos. Not even a dime taken to donate to a charity. The only question I have (that was also raised by the photographers in confidence)after seeing all 22 photos is who are the real parents. This child is CLEARLY Asian.

Let's all sing along...
"Chicks and ducks and geese better scurry
When I take you out in the sury
When I take you out in the sury with the fringe on top!
Watch that fringe and see how it flutters
When I drive them high steppin' strutters
Nosey pokes'll peek thru' their shutters and their eyes will pop!
I can see the stars gettin' blurry
When we drive back home in the sury
Drivin' slowly home in the sury with the fringe on top!"

Katie, remember Tom is not almighty and all knowing, demand that your values are used in her upbringing also.
Posted by: Melody | September 06, 2006 at 07:49 AM
Leave the baby alone. It's not her fault who her parents are. She didn't have a choice of who her mother and father would be. And if she did, we all know that it wouldn't be them. But I do have a question, why does the baby look asian...and not like her parents? That's what confuses me the most.
Posted by: cadencegal | September 06, 2006 at 08:01 AM
Just what we can expect from Couric. In the 1 minute I took to watch her debut, I did notice she had tried to be less the morning sex goddess she had become by toning down the makeup and attempting serious and "mature." Is it any wonder this country's a mess? How does this type of fluff warrant nightly news??? Do you think Walter Cronkite would have run the story? Ha! Give me Brian or Charlie!

All of you people are rude, every baby is beautiful,we are all human beings, act like it. How would you feel if someone told you your kid was ugly, you are all very childish and just down right mean. The baby is beautiful. Also someone in an earlier comment said that Tom Cruise was desperate for money.........honestly how stupid is that. If you kept up on him you would know him nor Katie need money at all...........

How pathetic that you all have to bash what you probably don’t have nor understand. It’s a baby for hell sakes. Give them respect and just back off. Not a single one of use are perfect, it’s just sad that hollywood is expected to be. If you cant say something nice....DONT SAY IT AT ALL.

I think The baby is Beatiful, And it was brilliant to put it on CBS because llok how many people are now talkinga about the show!.. The baby looks like katie and the hair is Normal Many babies look just like this americans, can be so hateful when there is just no need to be.. Congrats to Tom and Katie! Being a Mom is truley a Blessing.

Oh well, Katie needs ratings, they don't care about the baby. They just recognize gossip thristy tv viewers and satisfy a demand. I don't watch tv so i feel for you. Unplug from the machine and pick up a good book. There's so much to do out there.

Congrats to Kasandra! Obviously she is pregnant with god-who-knows-who-the-father is-kid. Being a Mom is a blessing. Being a kid with a single Mom isn't. As soon as Katie and Tommy split, she'll be just that--a rich single Mom with a hapless fatherless child. Try Decency, Kasandra! I'm sure you've tried everything else.

You'd think Tom Cruise has had the first child [same with Brangelina]. Most of us have been having kids for centuries, and many under not so great conditions, and we have beautiful babies too.
I'm sick of the banter about this idiot and his "wife in training" - whom he doesn't care enough about to marry her [make a commitment before the world]...I've seen him through two marriages and he ranted about them too. As for Nicole, he walked out on her after 10 years, and she had no idea anything was remiss, so to Katie Holmes I say: WATCH OUT!
p.s. the baby is very beautiful though, looks a lot older than 4.5 mnths [i had four kids] and yeah, she does look ASIAN.

This is a hilarious site. All these small and angry two-cent souls stamping their impotent feet about people they'll never meet. Today, it's hate-the-Cruises Day. Throw in Hate-A-Religion Day. Let me guess--you hate your in-laws, your ex's, your successful cousins, and your company president.
If you sick, under-achieving, Web groupies didn't have something to hate, you'd actually have to look at what small, pathetic, disordered, low-income, behind-on-your-taxes, cheap-tennies-with-your-$2-tie lives you live.
Reading your powerless ire only makes me thankful I work hard, earn lots(!), love life, and go out of my way to find good things to say about people who deserve it.
But I hate small-minded cruelty and see only that on this site.
Before I go...Yes, I would like fries with that, and please wipe off the syrup on the counter. At least keep your workplace neat.

What a coincidence that Katie Couric broadcasted the news about TomKat's baby from the New York City studios of CBS. Also in NYC, at Columbia University, is one of the world's best scanning electron microscopes (SEM). This device is a microscope that can magnify very small details with high resolving power due to the use of electrons as the source of illumination, magnifying at levels up to 2,000,000 times, revealing a hidden domain filled with strange curiosities.
If I were using that microscope right now, I couldn't find my interest in the story of the Cruises, or the other Katie and her $15M-teleprompter-reading lottery jackpot.
We all have to get a life.

Ok.. People have children everyday, why is this more important than real news? What difference does it make if they are married or not? Do you have unwed mothers or pregnant teens in your family? What difference does it make what religion they are? Oh and for the people that are getting mad at the ones that are saying negative things, everyone is entitled to free speech. If they didn't make their lives public there wouldn't be anything to get a fuss over. Therein, duh you put your life on the screen and this is what you get. PUT ON REAL WORLD NEWS!!!

First of all, everyone that's making negative comments need to stop. Anyone can see that Suri looks like Kate and Tom. She has Kate's slanted eyes, but I have seen plenty of babies born with a head full of hair. Just BC a lot of your kids probably didn't don't hate BC Suri does. Again, that baby clearly is their child. She looks like both of them, and another thing, Kate doesn't have dark eyes. Her eyes change colors. Suri is a beautiful baby, and those comments really need to stop!

Posted by: Howard Hansen | September 06, 2006 at 10:27 AM
she's cute. looks like tom actually. why is there such a raging debate on this? they're on the cover w/ their baby. so what? obviously gossip sells so why is everyone up in arms. it's vf not the wall street journal! geez people, pick something w/ substance to bitch about.

I'm no fan of Tom Cruise. But the baby is adorable. If I had to deal with the media and the nastiness of people (as evidenced by so many of these comments), I'd do everything to shelter Suri from it as well.
You people are nasty, and I hope your Karma backs up and runs over you.

The more success you have, the more you have those complain about it. Congrats Tom. The rest of you can go back to your job you hate, the ballon mortgage and family with more transgressions than the Windsors. The rest of us will be productive, enjoy life and keep away from your side of the pub.

No wonder millions of Americans watch Fox News. Fair and balanced and doesn't do "stupid news" during the nightly news hour. Could you imagine Brit Hume ooh-ing over a movie star's baby? We can only hope the child will be a rebel.....and become a Christian missionary to India!

This is not news!
Im deeply concerned that the new anchor position that Katie was placed in is our newest form of infotainment. Why dont you leave worthless stories like this to Entertainment Tonight!
Im still steaming over the fact that Dan Rather ( An accomplished reporter and anchor, with a much more esteemed career than our current dictator) was forced out for seeking the truth behind Bush's lack of presence in the service.
Im sure Katie will do what she's told!

I don't get it. CBS, which at one time took pride in its news programs and used them to bring prestige to the station, dumps a serious person like Dan Rather so we can watch Couric hosting People Magazine? Where's my remote control?

First of all she has blue eyes, as far as I know asian babies have brown eyes. I had easily that much hair when I was four months old, both her parents have thick dark locks. She is obviously their baby and no wonder they wanted to keep her under wraps with so many angry jealous people out there. Maybe its not prime-time-news-worthy but its not insult-a-baby-worthy either. Shame on the haters.

In mi country, we are very worried that this new Suri will soon be put to work in a Malaysian Sweat Shop. Boxing TomKat t-shirts to be given out with every new copy of Dianetics.

This kid is Asian. Maybe the secrecy behind all of this is that they adopted. Also, is this a wig the kid is wearing?
Posted by: Rich | September 06, 2006 at 12:24 PM
I do not know if it is a wig for sure; owever, there may be an 80's metal cover band that is missing a wig.

It's amazing how the Cruise PR machine went into action once he got ditched by Paramount -- or whoever it was he got ditched by..... Once they acknowledged he was EL LOCO, the cruise PR machine went into action!
Firs the apology to Brooke Shields the day before she goes on Jay Leno (or whatever show she was on)..... How convenient for Mr. Scientology to apologize at such a good time....So, of course the very next day Mrs. Shields is talking about Tom's most sincere heartfelt apology!
NEXT - BAM, is that the sound of someone knocking Mr. Cruise over the head? hee hee -
No, it's the sound of Suri hitting the newstands.... Lo and behold out of nowhere there is Suri...smacked all over Vanity Fair...
WHY? Isn't it obvious.... guess those beliefs went out the window when he felt his pocketbook threatened, huh? Hurry, post pictures up everywhere so we can look like a normal family.
Face it, Mr. Cruise/Scientology let his BIG BUCKS go to his head..... Forcing his opinion onto everyone, demanding a meeting w/the Vice President. Give me a break! I think the VP has more important things to worry about than getting Mr. Scientology's opinion on world events.
And Katie -- poor li'l ol' Katie.... I see she drank the Kool Aid..... I know what it's like though... A lot of young girls become so infatuated with boys and do stupid things.... I can only imagine she is completely smitten with daddy big bucks -- scientology and all....
I'm off my soap box.... Hopefully this incident will help get Mr. Cruises head out of the clouds and come back down to earth with the rest of us.
Tom, no-one cares about your opinion on world events, religion, and politics --- Weren't you taught manners??? There are things you don't talk about .... Just shut up and act....
You used to be half way decent actor in your early years before you went over the deep end and became delusional with fame and fortune!
